A few friends are very scared of "thunder" in our class. They associate rain with thunder. We took the attention away from the "rainy weather" being scary on our island, but rather it turning into a "sun shower". We talked about why it rains when the sun is out sometimes (A sun shower is usually caused by the wind, blowing the raindrops where there are no clouds and the sun is out.). We also talked about when it is cold out, it is called a "snow shower".
The children used tissue paper and glue sticks to create their raindrops. We made gray paint (or silver) by mixing black and white paint together. Then we painted with Q-tips. : ) How are you planning on getting to the island? These tickets are "magical" and they can be used with whatever type of transportation that you decide to use (car, train, bus, submarine, plane, jet, hot air balloon, riding a dolphin, boat, ferry, cruise ship or just wearing your acorn floaties.).
Inside my suitcase there is...
"Booker, my toy dog." "My bathing suit." "A stuffed animal horsey." "A very hot sun, Honey Bunny, soft grass, my blanket and my pillow." "My toy ice cream. My toy sky, my toy grass and my toy sun." "A towel in case I go to a water park. And a power ranger." "A little sleeping mat, Bo-Bo, a toy house and flowers." "I haven't decided yet. But this is what it looks like inside my suitcase." "A stuffed animal dinosaur." "A violin and a power ranger set." |
