This is one for the history books! You will remember where you were...and what you were doing with your families.
I have created a "Home Learning" page. I hope to add ideas that you can try at home.

The children created a "tower" together. Then one friend created a "horse-hair clipper" for tending to the classroom toy horse.
A lot of thought went into this tower. They worked together to solve problems. They added a step stool to gain height, so that they could build the tower-taller. They chose a friend who had "high-heeled" boots on, so that she would be taller when standing on the stool. They were very proud of their accomplishment! : ) One friend used the "snowman" hole puncher to create snowmen, while the other friend counted them. They were trying to see if he created more than 20 snowman. They counted 24 snowmen! Wow! : )
Enjoying the unseasonably warm temperatures....It is hard to believe that it is still winter!
One of the children discovered that their hair gets "static" when climbing on the plastic climber. The children always want to sit up on the top of the tunnel (like some big kids do). We decided to try it (with a teacher present). One friend found a cool shady spot to play on this warm day. The Museum of Science (Boston) visited the Laurel School today. Ms. Megan taught us all about the night night sky and what we can see with out eyes. We got to go in the inflatable planetarium. We had so much fun! : )
K is for kite. The children talked about their kites at home and where they go to fly them (beach, park, etc.). We talked about how you need wind to be able to fly a kite, but one child did point out that you don't want the wind to be too strong or your kite can break.
During Health, Wellness & Fitness with Mr. Tarin, the kids made a mini golf course using blocks and cups. They used soft fuzzy tennis balls to try out their course.
During Mentor Buddies with the "Little's" (Ms. Naomi + Ms. Haley's toddler classroom), the children each painted a mitten, using red paint and a marble.
