A student in Ms. Taisha's classroom told us that it was Marty's birthday today. Marty, is the robot, at Stop & Shop. This student got invited to Marty's birthday festivities (as you might remember, he is the one who dressed up at Marty on Halloween).
Our wing decided to make a "big" birthday card for Marty. : ) Our Mentor Buddies, have begun to learn about the book, The Mitten. Today, we traced our hands, decorated our paper mittens and then helped cut them out. We then hung them in the hallway (by the lower preschool wing). We will be adding pictures and more creations to this bulletin board.
We found a ladybug in the classroom. The children decided to name it Snowflake. We released it outside.
Book orders are due by January 24. Orders forms are in your child's cubbie. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. (This is optional) : )
First time in Book Share history....the same book! The pretty cool thing is, they both liked the same page, but for different reasons. Great job Finn & Ty! We had fun reading it 2x. : )
Thank you Teagan for sharing a special farewell snack with your classmates. We look forward to hearing about your new house and adventures through being "pen pals".
A few friends noticed "smoke" coming out of the towels that were hanging on the fence during Morning Care. They thought the towels were on fire. Then they noticed "smoke" coming out of the top of the school. They also noticed "smoke" coming out of their mouths while they were talking. What is steam?
Candle the pumpkin has been sending "mail" to us each day. Since the day after she was carved. She either sends us a note with a new song, poem or a question. She has also been answering questions that we have about her (ie. is she a girl or a boy? She is a girl. How did she become magic? The hat that Edward put on her head. The fire fighter hat. etc.)
The children kept saying: "The towels are smoking!" When they saw the steam rising from the towels as the sun was warming them up on a chilly morning (we had just dried the swings and slide with the towels and hung them over the fence to dry). Then they noticed the smoke from the chimney.
