Some children gathered interesting pine needles, pine cones and acorns. They compared what they found. They used their senses to investigate these materials further (IE. "This pine needle feels sticky. I just pulled it off the bunch. It smells like a Christmas tree.", "Look at this small tiny baby pine cone. It is growing. It is so hard and pointy." and "You have to feel this...it's not wood it's a rock!", etc.)
Today, in Science Co-Op (w/ Ms. Lynn's class), the children went out to look at "our tree". We made our final observation on the tree. We checked on the "seed bombs" that we had left by our tree earlier in the year. We discovered that they grew into grass. We also noticed "baby" pine trees near them.
